you can get a mortgage with national wage?
trying to EGT a mortgage, but not sure if I can get one with my income. I get about 16 grand a year after taxes. my partner will move in with me and will be splitting the bills. I can get a mortgage, including her income, but not her on a joint mortgage I dont want her mortgage with the reasons of my own, but know that I want and can afford it.
My husband got one with a minimum wage and tax credits. The only problem is that some lenders will not, say, Halifax does not want to know if you are on tax credits .. We got our through Royal Bank of Scotland and then moved to Swinton for a better deal. I am not a mortgage cos I do not have a job at the time and they see this as a risk. They will also only give you so much based on your annual income. and you must also have the house / buildings and medical insurance before they allow you a mortgage too. Lots to go, but be sure you can afford the repayments.
