Can I avoid Jumbo loan rates with two Mortgages?
I move to work. I want to buy a 750K home and have 200K to put down. I would like to get max in accordance loans (417K) for 30 years and a second loan for the remainder (137k). I plan to pay off the second loan a few years (ie quickly) and would therefore like to have the lowest interest rate on the first loan. What is the best way to do this? Jumbo is the answer or is there a way to lock in non-jumbo rates in 30 years?
The yield on the second will be high. There will also be another set of charges (two loans). In the long run, probably will not help you.
