mortgage comparison
How does this compare to the war today?

Firstly, farmers had expanded their territories to create larger quantities of food to support both people on the home front and troops abroad, including European troops. These farmers made a big profit from this business during the war. But once the war was over, and the Europeans were again able to support themselves with food and the troops were home, crop prices plummeted. Now farmers were overproduction and was not even close to being able to pay the mortgage on their newly expanded farms. This is from my comparison essay on war debt from 20's to today. How this compared with the war we are currently?

No comparison. Farmers now receive huge subsidies from taxpayers and the food requirements of the current wars is very small in comparison with the 20 century
