Getting a mortgage with a bankruptcy?
I am currently 15 months away from my Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharged and I now have 3 credit cards with zero balance and a car loan which is paid on time each month. I 55k a year and I want to buy a home and stop renting. Think I'll be able to get a home mortgage? If yes, what type of rate would you suspect I would get or type of payment with taxes based on a 150k mortgage? I live in El Paso Texas. Thanks!
Since you have already restored your credit card, I can not see why you could not get a mortgage. I agree with the other answers, try lending tree.com I used them while just looking around and had 3 offers for a loan of less than 1 hour. I was 3 years out of my Chapter 7 and had restored my credit too.
