American Tall Tales (Popular Legends)?
I am an American living in Prague (Czech Republic). I need to write a story (in Czech) explaining some American popular legend, but I can not imagine anything that would be easy enough to write in Czech. My first thought was Legend of Oak Island, until I realized that it is in Nova Scotia, not America, I can still use it as a last resort. The typical American tall tales like Paul Bunyan and Johnny Appleseed does not seem to lend to write something interesting. I can only imagine writing about four sentences each. This need not be long, perhaps only 100 words or so, but a bit longer would be better. Any idea what American legend I can write about? Do you have a synopsis of the story? Remember, I have to translate this to Czech, so simplicity is crucial!
